Take the plunge from the Butte de Thil, wander through the vegetable garden of Lantilly, let yourself be surprised on the path of shadows in Vitteaux and awaken your senses by tasting the famous Epoisses cheese.

The medieval city of Semur en Auxois has a population of 4500 and is located to the west of the department of Côte-d’Or, in the heart of  Burgundy , half way between Paris and Lyon.

The city is built upon granite , and  encircled by the Armaçon. Semur is located where the foothills of the Morvan, the plain of Chatillon and the surroundings of the region of Autun meet.

The city is situated on the secondary road D980 between Montbard and Saulieu, and is 6km away from the A6 motorway exit number 23.

The medieval city of Semur is lively with all its shop and restaurants, and its location makes it an ideal place to stay and tour the area.

Tourist Offices Opening times

Semur-en-Auxois: Monday to Saturday (except Thursday afternoon) from 9.30am to 12.15pm and 2pm to 5.30pm;

Précy-sous-Thil and Vitteaux: Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9.30am to 12.30pm and 2pm to 5.30pm, and Saturday from 9.30am to 12.30pm.
